Biological Age Wars: Brit's 26, Sam's a Fraud, and Jess Reveals Her Abs

Clip from the full recording, 0.0–7:25 · download mp4 · watch at this point on YouTube

Before any tech talk, Sam's 43rd birthday turns into a referendum on biological-age scores and wearables, Jess is forced to give up her ab routine on air, and David's Protein Bars quietly get cancelled for being full of sugar.

The pod opens on Dave’s surprise return to Instagram after (he insists) a full year off, driven entirely by live music — Stagecoach, Benson Boone’s Wanted Man tour, and Chris Stapleton at Montana’s Under the Big Sky festival. Jess gushes over his (Brit-art-directed) photography before the conversation pivots hard into birthday territory: Sam turned 43, and the group immediately starts relitigating biological age. Brit claims a biological age of 26 against her real 31 via a “super test” blood panel; Sam counters that all of it is bullshit, citing wildly inconsistent readings from Aura (seven years younger) versus Dexa (two decades younger), comparing the whole industry to Garmin flattering you while Apple tells you the truth.

The interrogation then turns to Jess, whose visible abs get called out as a biological age of 18. She holds out as long as she can before finally surrendering her actual routine on air: a trainer twice a week plus tennis, surfing, and hiking — no peptides, no secret. The segment closes on a lighter note as Brit reveals David’s Protein Bars, which Sam has evangelized and eaten by the hundred-thousand this year, have been quietly cancelled in the Morin-Lessin household for being, in Brit’s words, full of crap and sugar. Sam shrugs it off with his own theory of seasonal eating.

Key points

  • Dave claims a full year off Instagram, ended by wanting to reconnect with musicians via Stagecoach and Under the Big Sky.
  • Brit tests her biological age at 26 (vs. real age 31) via a credible blood panel called the "super test."
  • Sam dismisses all biological-age wearables as bullshit — Aura says he's 7 years younger, Dexa says 2 decades younger.
  • Jess is pressured into revealing her actual ab routine: a trainer twice a week, tennis, surfing, hiking — no peptides.
  • David's Protein Bars, which Sam has eaten by the hundred-thousand, get cancelled by Brit for being full of sugar.
  • Sam claims he "lives seasonally," eating badly in summer and cleaning up in winter.

Where they landed

BritTrusts her super-test blood panel result of biological age 26 over Sam's wearables; also art-directs Dave's Instagram photography.
SamAll biological-age scores are bullshit marketing — each service just tells you the number that will make you like it.
JessHer abs are the product of a normal fitness routine, not peptides — reluctantly proves it on air.
DaveCame back to Instagram purely for live music discovery, not vanity; happily takes the heat for David's Bars being cancelled.

Quotes

“Listen, this stuff is all bullshit. I got Aura saying I'm seven years younger. I got Dexa saying I'm like two decades younger. It's literally just Garmin versus Apple — Garmin wants to tell you the nice thing so you like it.”— Sam
“Your abs are a biological age of 18, Jess.”— Brit
“I live seasonally. My summer season's very different than my winter season.”— Sam
